For my potion of the group presentation, my goal was to extend the conversation beyond “pro-life” and “pro-choice”. The Abortion Debate is so complex, my role was to neutralize the discussion. I provided a more modern take on the debate by discussing the social aspects, such as feminism, racial and social inequalities. In addition, I also discussed modern medical advancements that allow for safer abortions.

On the first slide I placed great emphasis on textual evidence. Although it aided in remembering my points, the amount of texts was distracting from the points I was trying to convey. As for the second slide, I placed only pictures. With each, a subject such as feminism, racial disparities and the foster care system were discussed. With current events, these sub issues should be further analyzed. Withholding reproductive rights for women is a violation of health, sexist and regressive.
